ABO-Group is aware of the fact that appropriate processing of personal data is an indispensable aspect of privacy law. In order to guarantee this right, this statement provides you with information concerning what happens with your data. Naturally, ABO-Group’s course of action already complies with the current Data Protection Act and also with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of 25 May 2018.
This implies that we will in any case:

  • Process your personal data in accordance with the purpose for which they were provided; these purposes and types of personal data are described in this Privacy Statement;
  • Limit the processing of your personal data to only those elements that are minimally necessary for the purposes for which they are processed;
  • Ask for your explicit permission if we need this for the processing of your personal data;
  • Have taken appropriate technical and organisational measures so that the safety of your personal details is guaranteed;
  • Will not pass on personal data to other parties, unless this is necessary for the execution of the purposes for which they have been provided;

1. Purposes of data processing (general)

Your personal data are processed by ABO-Group for the engagement and execution of agreements with ABO-Group Environment NV and/or its underlying companies. These agreements are aimed at providing services and consultancy in the field of integrated engineering & testing activities, in the field of soil, geotechnics, environment, energy and waste. In order to optimize these services, the data may also be used to improve the services of ABO-Group Environment NV and its underlying companies, and to manage relationships with the clients.

2. Marketing Activities

As part of its marketing activities, ABO-Group keeps general records of its existing customers, contacts and relations. For this purpose, we may collect your data such as your e-mail address, name, company and telephone number in lists or databases.

These data are used to maintain the customer relationship. Examples are communicating with existing and potential customers/relations about (new) services or activities, inviting existing and potential customers/relations to our events.

3. Employees

ABO-Group keeps such data on its employees in order to fulfil all its legal social obligations and within the framework of entry and promotion processes. These data are collected from the human resources department in databases and in lists. These data may also be shared with external social partners for the correct processing of data and HR issues.

In addition, personal data including name, first name, telephone number and e-mail address are shared with our external ICT partners.

In the context of winning and executing our contracts, C.V’s and surname and first name, respectively, are used in our commercial and execution processes.

Personal data of employees is collected in our internal communication services to maintain the collaborative relationship. Examples of this are sending out communications, wishes, invitations and information.

4. Provision to third parties

We may transfer the data you provide to third parties if this is necessary for the fulfilment of the purposes described above. We never pass on personal data to other parties with whom we have not concluded a processing agreement. With these parties (processors) we naturally make the necessary arrangements to guarantee the safety of your personal data.

Furthermore, we will not pass on the data you have provided to third parties (supply other parties), unless this is required and permitted by law. An example of this is when the police request (personal) data from us as part of an investigation. In such a case we must cooperate and are therefore obliged to hand over these data.

We can also share personal details with third parties if you give us your (written) permission to do so. You have the right to withdraw this permission at any time, without prejudice to the lawfulness of the processing before the withdrawal.

We do not provide personal data to parties located outside the EU.

5. Storage period

ABO-Group will not retain personal data longer than necessary for the purpose for which they have been provided or as required by law.

6. Security level

ABO-Group protects the data using technical and administrative security measures in order to minimise the risk of loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure and modification. These include firewalls, data encryption and physical and administrative access controls to the data and servers.

We have taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from unlawful processing, for example we have taken the following measures;

  • All individuals who may access your data on behalf of ABO-Group are bound to secrecy.
  • We use a user name and password policy on all our systems;
  • We pseudonymise and encrypt personal data when necessary;
  • We make back-ups of personal data to be able to restore them in case of physical or technical incidents;
  • We regularly test and evaluate our measures;
  • Our employees are informed about the importance of protecting personal data.

7. Rights of those involved

If you have a connection with our organisation, you can access your personal data after making a written request (by e-mail to the address below). If the overview provided by us contains factual inaccuracies, you can request in writing that we amend the data or have it removed. In addition, if you do not wish to be contacted with information about our products and services, you can inform us of this in writing.

You can also object (oppose) to the processing of your personal data (or part thereof) by us or one of our processors.

You also have the right to have the data you have provided us with transferred to yourself or, on your behalf, directly to another party. We may ask you to identify yourself before we can comply with the aforementioned requests.

You always have the right to file a complaint with the Privacy Commission, which is the supervisory authority in the field of privacy protection.
