Workshop on waste management (Mauritius)

06/06/2017

In the context of development of the new National Waste Management Strategy in Mauritius, led by Ecorem and financed by the AFD, last week, a second interactive Workshop was organized by Ecorem, at the country’s capital Port Louis, with the support of the project holder – the Solid Waste Management Division – in the presence of the Minister of the Environment and representatives of the civil society members. This event has gathered some 60 stakeholders with the aim of presenting and discussing of the Strategy and Action Plan elaborated by Ecorem to unite the different players around this challenging national project.

The second phase of this mission, which will occur in the second half of the year, will be a detailed economic and technical feasibility study on some measures proposed in the Action Plan.
